Weigh is a camera-based grocery comparison iOS application built on Google Firebase. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Weigh, including its camera scanning, shared shopping lists, receipts, and account features.

1. Who Is Responsible for Your Information

The data controller is Fırat Onurcan Polat, the developer and seller identified for Weigh on its Apple App Store listing (referred to as “Weigh,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

2. Privacy at a Glance

• You can use Weigh without an account, in guest (anonymous) mode.
• If you choose to sign in, Weigh uses Sign in with Apple only — we never offer Google or email/password sign-in.
• Your shopping lists, receipts, price history, and preferences are stored in your account on Google Firebase (Firestore), tied to your device or Apple ID.
• Camera frames you scan (shelf price labels, nutrition panels, receipts) are used only to read text and are not retained afterward.
• We do not use advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs.
• We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
• A shared shopping list is visible only to the people you explicitly add to it.
• Weigh has no in-app purchases and no advertising.

3. Information Handled by the App

3.1 Account

If you choose Sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email (or Apple’s private relay email) as shared by Apple, plus a unique account identifier. Anonymous (guest) mode creates a random identifier with no personal information attached.

3.2 Camera and Scanning

Shelf price labels are read entirely on-device using Apple’s Vision framework; this image content never leaves your device.
