Effective July 19, 2026 · Applies to the RepGate iOS app

In one sentence: RepGate counts your exercise reps entirely on your device, has no account system, no advertising SDK, no analytics or tracking SDK, and no developer-operated server. We do not collect your data.

Camera

RepGate uses your device's camera and Apple's on-device Vision framework to detect your body position and count reps during an exercise session. This processing happens entirely on your device. Camera frames are never recorded, saved, uploaded, or transmitted anywhere — not to the developer, not to any third party, not even to Apple. Nothing from your camera ever leaves your phone.

Screen Time (Family Controls)

RepGate uses Apple's Family Controls framework to let you choose which apps to lock. The apps you select are represented by privacy-protected tokens that Apple's system manages — RepGate cannot read or store which specific apps you picked as identifiable data; it can only apply or remove a shield using the tokens Apple's picker returns. Your selection is stored locally on your device (in an App Group shared only between RepGate and its own system extensions) so the app can re-apply your shield in the background. It is never sent off your device.

Apple Health

If you turn on Apple Health sync (a Premium feature), RepGate writes a workout entry (exercise type, rep count, estimated active energy) to your Health app after each completed session. RepGate only ever requests permission to write to Health — it does not request or read any of your existing Health data. You can revoke this access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.

Session history and stats

Your rep counts, streaks, and session history are stored locally on your device using standard iOS app storage. This data is used only to show your own stats inside the app (Home and Progress screens) and is never transmitted anywhere.

Purchases

Apple processes all subscription purchases. RepGate verifies subscription status on-device (via Apple and RevenueCat's entitlement service) to unlock Premium features. The developer never receives your payment-card details. RevenueCat processes an anonymous, app-generated identifier and purchase state solely to keep your Premium access in sync — see RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Data we collect

Your choices

You can revoke Camera, Screen Time, or Health access at any time in iOS Settings. Turning off Apple Health sync in RepGate's own Settings stops future workouts from being written. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored session history and locked-app selections.

Children's privacy

RepGate is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
